Personal History | Alexandra spent most of her childhood on the streets of Alpha III after her mother died of Irumodic Syndrome while she was young. Throughout her formative years she fell in with a group of homeless that were "protected" by a small gang and she ended up becoming one of the "protectors" in order to keep herself safe from those who might have preyed upon her due to her young age. During her time in the gang she learned to be nimble and quick as she was often the one sent to steal supplies that the gang or those it "protected" needed. As she grew into her later teenage years, she began to take an interest in the human body and its illnesses; in part due to the fear that she might develop the same disease as her mother had and she began to study Medical Science in the hopes that she might learn to cure or combat the disease should it show itself in her. She studied using stolen books and information or on the rare occasions when she could find peace enough to disappear to the Archives. During her times at the Archives, she met Arend; who would later become her brother despite their completely different parentage and they became close and fast friends. Arend eventually aided her when she fell into serious criminal trouble while defending herself from a sexual assault as she grew into full adult womanhood where she wound up killing three of her attackers. Arend acted as her defense in his capacity as a Starfleet Officer and managed to get her cleared of all charges on the basis of acting in self-defense. After the trial he offered her a proper home on Earth and an opportunity to escape the life of homelessness and the gang; which she took readily. Once on earth she completely refocused her life; taking advantage of the new resources that Arend and his fathers sponsorship gave her and spending many of her days in the libraries and archives of San Francisco. After a year or so with them she began to volunteer at medical facilities in an attempt to further her knowledge and it was not long after that when she was convinced to apply to Starfleet Academy and was accepted when she was in her early twenties and has served in Starfleet since. |
