Shore Leave & Ship Repairs

Post Count: 107

Location: Barisa Prime

The ship is in space dock at the Starbase orbiting Barisa Prime for a couple of days recuperating from an unexpected hit from the Ataran vessel. While waiting, the crew gets a couple of days of R&R, and a few new faces join the crew.

Among other things, Barisa Prime boasts a capital city that is the Vegas of the Beta quadrant: casinos, shows, and restaurants all set to attract and impress guests. There are family friendly options and certainly nature to see off the beaten path.

Gone, Without Ever Knowing the Way

Post Count: 18

The USS Dalton went missing in 2380, while studying the Vaulteran Nebula in Bolian Space. However, information has come in that a trader on Freecloud has information about where the Dalton is located. The information is coming into Astrea as the traders were setting up shop on Freecloud, a planet in the Alpha Doradus system, known for being a Mecca for businesses, free traders, and others.

The Pakleds are already interested and may have made an offer, and Astrea is hoping to intercept this information.

The Alpha Doradus system is a long way from Bolian Space, located in the Beta Quadrant just outside of both Federation and Romulan Space. What brought the Kzinti traders way out there with this information? The clues will eventually lead Astrea into the Typhon Expanse, an uncharted region of space rife with hidden dangers.

Seasonal & Holidays

Post Count: 14

Posts in this mission will typically fall outside of our Mission Days to allow for fun celebratory / seasonal posts that may not fit what is going on with our current plot. We could be fighting the Borg, but you could still go see the Easter Bunny if you wanted.

We'll use Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, - Though IC days probably won't be that long, since it's usually just a party or two.

Mission 0: Where do we go from here?

Post Count: 93

Welcome aboard the USS Astrea. Find your quarters and meet your fellow officers who are arriving to serve aboard the soon to be newly recommissioned Galaxy-2 class starship. We are still docked at Jupiter station as final diagnostics are being completed. The First Officer and Second Officer have arrived, but they have yet to receive word as to who the new captain will be. Speculations about who the new Captain might be are being murmured around the ship as the launch date gets closer.

Helping Brunel

Post Count: 102

On MD 11, during a seemingly normal evening, Brunel collapsed. It was discovered that a combination of a mild allergic reaction and a recent vaccine protocol triggered a time bomb that was already in Brunel's body. His genetic mutations were more serious than being born mute, and his immune system is attacking his own body.

Years ago, when the Captain was still a science officer she had started a project at Daestrom that could potentially be used toward a cure for Brunel's condition. However, her research along with other similar working medical projects were all shut down and banned as part of the larger synth ban in 2385. Just how far will the crew go and to what lengths, to save Brunel's life.

Security Alert: These Bugs Again

Post Count: 13

MD 10: When Lieutenant Jules Mundy visits Sickbay for busting up his hands on a punching bag in the gym, a lot more is uncovered when Dr. McEntyre determines that the injuries to Mundy's right hand require surgery. While Mundy was being aroused from the anesthetic a parasitic lifeform known as a bluegill escaped through Mundy's throat and began looking for a new host before being quickly put into a quarantine chamber thanks to the quick actions of medical crew and modern technology.

Tactical Chief Clay McEntyre has begun an investigation to determine where Lieutenant Mundy picked up this parasite, which can take complete control over its host. The last known Federation encounter was less than one year ago, and because the parasite detached itself, the Lieutenant had likely been infected less than four weeks. It's called into question a number of recent behaviors, including a recent transfer request to Security.

Where will this investigation trace back to, and how widespread is the security threat?

What We Do With Second Chances

Post Count: 100

The crew arrives to New Sausalito to help the Atarans settle into their new home. Per their request, they've asked to have their own community rather than get lost among the blended society of the main colonies. Civil Operations will have their hands full establishing the people into their new settlement in modern society.

Meanwhile, command and the rest of the diplomatic division are presented with difficult issues. The crew has learned that the "delegates" they've been dealing with are slavers, and the rest of the Atarans have been hidden on the lower decks of their ship, likely to be held there until the Atarans feel the coast is clear to bring them out.

The Captain and her crew, led prmarily by the First Officer and the Diplomatic Division must figure out how to get the enslaved Atarans off of the Serenity safely, and before the ship tries to flee. The fate of the slavers to be decided later...
