Mission Update

The USS Astrea has been inside of the Typhon Expanse for almost three days now. Many of you are exhausted. Frustrated from long hours of countering against unexpected issues with the ship's system, working to map out the anomalies with as much precision as possible to protect Astrea against further damage or possible exposure to temporal disturbances, and some of you have been experiencing visions, hallucinations, flashbacks that have been disrupting sleep and causing anxiety and terror.

Our current intelligence suggests that the USS Dalton disappeared from the far side of the Alpha Quadrant and ended up here. The Dalton was also in an area of anomalous space, so it can be assumed that their transport was from a naturally occurring spatial phenomenon. However, L. Commander Cyn has information that the Dalton was not alone when it arrived in the Expanse, and that it may have been prevented from leaving. It's possible that it may have been lured there. Temporal distortions were also noted at the Dalton's entry vector into the Expanse.

No known species live in the Expanse, but it is a known smuggling route. The Typhon Pact of 2381 was signed there. It is expected that those who wish to hide from the Federation or do others harm may use the anomalies within as baits and traps.

Both Dr. Alexandra Blackstone and Lieutenant Daynah Ral have spent time inside of the Expanse, and are here to lend their expertise. Though neither were looking forward to revisiting the location.
