The Menagerie: side stories & mischief making
Location: Shake it Up Bar
Timeline: MD Zeta First Contact Day
S'Niri led Dani to one of the other bars where people had gathered and found a much more adult scene there. The lights were dim, and people were a little more relaxed. Softer lounge chairs were in the back of the bar, and several people gathered around the bar and sat at tables near the front.
"I don't even care really," Dani said as she walked up to bar. "Cosmo please," she ordered, before turning back to S'Niri. "I mean he's either been lying or withholding information. And if that was him trying to get attention, that has to be THE most childish way to do it."
"I don't know what's happening in his head, Dani. But it's alright, we'll see if he comes to explain himself, and then I'll scratch him if you'd like." S'Niri promised with a feline snicker. She ordered a margarita and downed half the cup in one go. "I swear, if he doesn't..."
"There are other people out there," Dani said. "Let's stop talking about it. We came here to have fun. What else is going on?"
"With me? Nothing much. Nothing in the love department for now, at least. I think I scare the boys - and girls - away. Maybe it's the saber teeth. Like, come on, I clean them, they're not that dirty." S'Niri grinned, baring sharp saber fangs. "And I don't bite. Unless they want me to. What's going on with you, got anything exciting happen in sickbay? Or does that fall under the whole patient confidentiality thing you medical types like."
This was the fifth place he had searched, and when he entered, he saw Dani at the bar and headed over.
Dani sighed, and looked at S'Niri. "This ought to be good."
"Oh, yeah." S'Niri glanced over at Jules with her arms folded. "So. What've you got to say for yourself? You left a pretty bad taste in our mouths, you know."
Jules stared at S'Niri. "You...go away!" The look in his eyes meant that he meant business.
Dani scoffed with indignation. "I cannot believe you would talk to anyone like that, much less one of my friends. Why don't you turn around and go back outside and come back with some manners, and an apology."
"You made Dani pretty upset, you know. I've never seen her turn around and leave a party so fast and trust me, when I see stuff like that happen to my friends, I get mad." S'Niri crossed her arms. "I'm staying right here. So, like I said: please, explain yourself, and preferably without shooing me away like a domestic cat."
Jules pushed past S'Niri and stood in front of Dani. "You didn't want to dance with me before. You know how that felt? Much like you seeing me dancing with someone else." He paused. "One question...are you in love with me?"
"I told you to join us . I never said I didn't want to dance with you, but you knew I was going to the party with a friend, and we had just got there. I'm not going to go to a party with friends and immediately ditch them because my boyfriend wants to dance." Dani made a face at Jules.
"Love doesn't have anything to do with it. What you did was childish, and you are acting selfish. If you really loved me, you'd want to get to know my friends, and not try to pull me away from them." Dani was starting to get a bad feeling. She stepped toward S'Niri slowly until she felt the fur of S'Niri's arm against her skin.
"I wasn't pulling you away from your friends! I'm trying to make sure you have the right friends, not people who take advantage of you! And you call me childish? One dance was all I wanted, but instead of placing me first, like I do for you, you chose your friends over me! And you were jealous of who I was dancing with! I asked her to dance because she was the only one NOT dancing!" Jules continued to shout. People at the party were starting to watch. "We're done!" Jules turned around and left the room.
S'Niri stared daggers at Jules as he departed the room. "Geez, what's his problem." She snarled as she stood up and dusted herself off. Immediately she wrapped her arms round Dani and hugged her tightly. "A boyfriend who doesn't bother getting to know his girl's friends properly isn't worth keeping." She murmured. "There's someone better than him on board, for sure."
"Honestly, S'Niri. That was a little scary. Maybe I should stay with you tonight," Dani said quietly. She was more than a little rattled by the shouting and didn't like the idea of him showing up to her quarters when she was alone.
"If you'd like. You'll have to sleep on the sofa, though." S'Niri replied. "For now, let's find our own little piece of enjoyment tonight - and then you're welcome to stay over. Sound good?"
Dani picked up her glass and held it out to S'Niri. "Sounds good," she said before taking a drink.
Jules headed for the gym. He started doing reps with 50 pound weights.
