Mission: The Menagerie: side stories & mischief making
Location: Paddy's Lounge (Ten-Forward)
Timeline: MD: Zeta

Dr. Ta'Feel stepped off the turbolift, followed, in proper order, by Cadet Nallee, Ensign Shakal and Ensign Zetchurl. They made their way to 10-Forward, entered, and slowly made their way around the edge of the area, noticing everything that was going on, and exchanged the occasional tele/speak with each other. Once they arrived at the bar, Ta'Feel waited until the everyone else had been waited on, then stepped up to the bar. After a quick blink/speak, Sei announced, "Four Mielcelovo nectars, please."

Samuel moved over to help them. "Hey, Doc! Forgive me if I get this incorrect, but, are these your spouses?" After asking the question, he started to look for the bottle in question. Finding it, he walked back over to Ta'Feel, grabbing four small tumblers, then putting them on the bar, before slowly pouring out the thick, richly flavored fluid. It smells like a mix of strawberries and cantaloupe. "Here ya go, first round is on the house."

Ta'Feel replied with a few blink/speaks, "Mr. Wynters is correct." "These are my spouses." "Mr. Nallee, the #2 spouse." "Ms. Shakal, the #3 spouse." "Mm Zetchurl, the #4 spouse." Ta'Feel held up Hir tumbler of nectar toward Samuel. "Mx Ta'Feel appreciates the first round being on the establishment." "Our next round will be Alkomedo, which will be the fermented version of Mielcelovo."

Samuel cringed slightly. "I'm sorry to say, I don't have any fresh Alkomedo. The bottle I did have broke this morning. I can only offer you the synthetic, nonalcoholic version from the replicator right now."

Ta'Feel responded, "Dr. Ta'Feel is willing to try a non-traditional version." After exchanging tele/speaks with Hir family, Sei continued, "You may bring them now."

Samuel nodded. "Coming right up." He moved over to the replicator and placed the order. In a flash, four highball glasses, filled with a smokey-amber-colored, viscous fluid that had a green vapor rising from the surface. He carried the tray of drinks over to Ta'Feel and ser spouses. "When we get to Starbase 76, I'll be able to replenish my inventory. Please accept these on the house."

The dance ended. "Thank you for the dance. It was enjoyable." Jules went off in search of Dani.

Jules looked around and didn't see Dani. He could only assume that Dani had gone off in a fit of jealousy because he had the nerve to dance with another woman. She was with S'Niri, who tended to be a bad influence on Dani. He figured that they went to another party to get drunk together, so he went off in search of her.

Charlotte had been joined by Dr. Beckett. The two were taking note of who was talking to who at the party, helping one another learn to put the names with the faces and sharing what they new about the new crew. When she saw Eirly's dance had ended she waved her back over.

"Hey, I still got your drink for you," Charlotte said holding up the drink Eirly had left behind.

Despite being a little breathless at the end of the dance, Eirly took her drink and sipped on it again, "It feels so good to be dancing like that again, I've missed it so much." Then she turned to the newcomer who'd be talking to Charlie, "Sorry to have interrupted the convo! I'm Eirly, the new Assistant Chief Tactical here."

"No interruption at all, just a little people watching. Malcolm Beckett, doctor." Malcolm said introducing himself. "New ya said? Welcome aboard then. Got any first impressions yet?"

'Oh, and of course he has a Scottish accent too.' Eirly thought to herself as she hiccupped from drinking too fast, "I've met a couple of people so far, and everyone else seems to be nice enough, but I think Charlie here and Cha'joga, one of the helm officers, are probably the best people I've talked to." She gave a sweet and appreciative smile to the other woman.

"That's our boss, sitting behind us," Charlie said. She didn't turn around, but tilted her head back, gesturing to the four .Chix'alk sitting at the far end of the bar. "You can leave your positive reviews with ser at the end of the night," Charlotte said with a light laugh.

Malcolm lowered his voice, "Don't tell Dr. Ta'Feel I told ya, but don't ask me to point out which one is ser. If they aren't sportin' their uniforms I dunnae ken which one is which."

Samuel had overheatd the conversation, and decided to give assistance. Leaning on his side of the bar, he spoke quietly to Malcolm. "I know who is whom. Its pretty easy, once you see the differences. They are in hieght order. Ta'Feel, is the head of their family, standing at 6'3". Nallee, the first spouse, is 6'1", and works in Engineering. Next, we have Shakal, the second spoce. They stand at 5' 11", and works in Security. Finally, we have Zetchurl, the thrived spouse, who stands at 5'9", and is in Science."

"I'll try to keep that in mind, Sam. Thanks," Beckett said with a friendly smile.

"So I can put in a good word in for promotion then?" Eirly looked behind Charlotte for a moment and saw who she was speaking about. She loved meeting new people, but it was usually only in smaller groups, and also learning about different cultures, so it would be interesting to find out more about the .Chix'alk in general.

Sliding her now empty drink off to the side, she ordered another one before turning back to the other two, "So what counts for fun around here?"

"I guess that depends on what you're into," Malcolm said. "The ship just got her refit, and we all went straight into a mission without a shakedown cruise, so everyone else is still settling in too, really. Plenty of restaurants and holodecks."

"Dr. Beckett's looking for poker players," Charlotte volunteered.

Eirly raised an eyebrow at that and grinned, "Poker, aye? If you've got some good stakes going for it, count me in."

"I've always hosted friendly stakes, but you're welcome to get in and up the ante if you like," Malcolm said raising his glass to Eirly.

Jules knew where all the parties were on the ship, so he started dropping in on them looking for Dani.

Shelly, Andrea and Lori went back to the bar looking around to get some more drinks and ordered their same extremely strong beer, which they loved.

"Did I hear someone mention poker?" Samuel asked as he brought the requested beers over. "Here you go, ladies, enjoy!" He gave Shelly, Andrea and Lori each a friend, charming grin.

Shelly, Andrea and Lori said in unison loudly, "Hey, where is this Poker game? We want to join in and we got tons of Gold Pressed Latinum to gamble with. Anyone?" Then, they took a sip of their beers waiting for a reply.

Eirly smiled at Malcolm and raised her glass, then looked at the others, "I'll be in on that kind of gamble. Assuming Malcolm here wants more people, of course?"

"Looks like we're getting ourselves a game together then," Malcolm responded. "Charlotte you should've gone into PR. My quarters Friday night then. Unless this game gets any larger, then we might get one of the smaller lounges."

Shelly, Lori and Andrea said in Unison, "Well, Malcolm and Charlotte, you have us three to join in. And, we will bring at least a total of 800,000 Bars of Gold Pressed Latinum to the game. So, what time on Friday night? Oh, and, we are going to bring at least 10 kegs of our Spiced Beer for everyone to enjoy. So, what say you?"

"Sounds like we might want to see about getting one the crew lounges reserved," Malcom responded. "Ten kegs of beer sounds like a wee bit more than a friendly little poker night."

Shelly, Andrea and Lori said in unison, "Well, we like to drink a whole lot and share with others. And, might as well get an entire lounge reserved."

Charlotte shrugged at Malcolm at Eirly. "Oops. Good night to practice at least."

Charlotte turned eyes back to the bar for more wine. "So, Shelly, Andrea - what's your game?" She asked.

Lori replied, "I am Lori Grimes Guevera, Shelly's wife." She lovingly smiled at Shelly and Andrea, the two women she loves with all of her heart, mind and soul!

Malcolm turned to Eirly, "What counted for fun at your old posting?"

"It really depended on what you were into as to what was available." Eirly nodded and consumed the last of her drink, which wasn't much. "I personally preferred the holodeck programs that were adventure based, otherwise there were a couple of dance parties, similar to this one."

"I haven't found many starships differ so much from one another really then. So did I hear you like to dance then?" Malcolm asked.

"You may have heard right..." Eirly said with a grin, "I love it. Been doing it for over half my life now... Did you want to go out dancing or something?" It was an innocent question, nothing behind it of note.

"Well I was going to make you an offer, but now you've gone and intimidated me. I know some social dances, but I'm not winning any awards," Malcolm said giving Eirly a playful wink.
