The Menagerie: side stories & mischief making
Location: Mundy's Quarters

Mundy was working the pan and pots over the heating element in his quarters. His dish was coming along nicely.
The table was set nicely, for 2.
Light, romantic music was playing.
And a bottle of wine was opened and breathing.
Dani made her way anxiously to Jules Mundy's quarters. She had chosen something comfortable that she hoped was also cute. Black tights, with camel colored knee high boots, and a soft tunic with blended shades of burnt oranges that fell off of her shoulders. She'd agreed to this easily the night before, but this morning she'd been questioning the thought of getting involved with someone who was literally senior staff.
Anyway, he was cute enough, and she was curious to see if he'd have anything to say now that they'd be alone. When she arrived, she ran her hand over the chime alerting her presence.
"Enter." The doors opened. "You're here. Dinner will be ready in ten minutes. Make yourself comfortable, anywhere you like." He continued cooking.
Dani took a few steps in to peek at the area where Jules was cooking, then stepped back into the main room looking around briefly to see if he had anything on display that might shed some like into his background or his hobbies.
"So other than cooking and beautiful women what else do you do for fun?" As soon as the words came out of her mouth Dani blushed, her cheeks turning a violet hue as she laughed at herself. "That came out wrong, I'm sorry. Having dinner with... you know cause you said... Never mind. What do you do in your spare time?" she asked finally giving up.
"With what little spare time I have, I'm usually in the gym, working out. Or reading. Or painting." He started plating the dish to bring to her. "I hope you like chicken paprikash." He placed the plate in front of her. "That painting," he pointed to the wall over the couch...it was a landscape, Earth, Ireland. "I did that." He came back to the table with his plate, and sat opposite her.
"The food looks great, thanks," Dani said, taking her seat a little more formally than she probably needed to. "Is that where you're from? Ireland?" she asked as she admired the painting.
"Actually, I'm from San Francisco. Grew up in the shadow of Starfleet HQ." He took a fork full of the chicken. Rice also was on the plate. "May I say that you look beautiful tonight?"
"Thank you," Dani said, matter-of-factly, her confidence returning. "I'm half-Orion actually. I grew up in the Orion system, came here as soon as I could. My mom's family is mostly from the Kentucky, Tennessee area. My grandparents travel a lot now though. It was nice to finally meet them. I wasn't sure how they would accept me. We didn't have much contact with them when I was growing up, but they've been really awesome," Dani smiled as she talked about her family here, taking a bite as she finished her story.
"What about you? What's your family like?" she asked.
"Growing up, visiting Federation installations was amazing. My family all served in Starfleet, parents, uncle and aunts. My grandfather is a retired admiral." Then Mundy turned somber. "My parents ship was attacked by the Jem Hadar. They are listed as missing, presumed dead."
Dani made a sympathetic face. "I'm so sorry. I know a lot of lives were lost back then," she said softly. "So brutal and senseless." She shook her head.
"Thank you. It's hard, but it was war," He finished his dinner, then sipped his glass of wine, watching her.
"Well... umm..." Dani said trying to think of something to talk about. "Have you ever worked with a Tellarite before? The head of my department is one, and communication can be well... challenging."
"Tellarites love to argue about anything, If they start complaining or arguing, come back at him. Yell, scream. Then they'll respect you." With dinner and desert over, Jules put the dishes in the replicater for recycling. He came back to the table, picked up the bottle of wine they were sharing and suggested, "why don't we move to the couch to continue our conversation.?"
"Sure," Dani shrugged. "Yeah, that's what happened. He kept needling me and pushing at me and finally I just lost my temper and went off on him, and he was actually happy about it. It was super weird, I don't know if I can get used to it." Dani sat down on the couch and let Jules refill her wine glass.
"But now he will respect you." Jules smiled at her, placed his hand on her neck and started caressing her neck.
"Perhaps," Dani said shrugging. She chugged a good portion of the wine down, trying to relax as Jules touched her neck. She scooted in a little and took another drink. "You're not worried that you're senior staff and I'm still an ensign?" She asked, his hand still pleasantly teasing her neck.
"Why? We're not in the same department, and I don't think we will have that much contact on away missions. You're so tense. Relax." He moved closer to her.
"I'm not tense," Dani objected. She refilled her wine glass and rearranged herself so that she was nestled slightly under Jules' arm and curled her legs up beside her on the couch. "You just... don't talk much," she commented taking another sip of wine and looked up at him. It was sort of a challenge, but it was also one of those looks that young women know they can often use to get what they want. "I like conversation. It's warming."
"Conversation, eh? What if I said I want to kiss you right now? Is that considered conversation?"
"I uh, well it's hard to talk while you're kissing someone..." Dani started, before she was interrupted by Mundy's lips meeting hers. She smiled - awkward - but closed her eyes and returned the kiss.
Mundy leaned forward and continued kissing her, softly at first, then more passionately as she put her wine glass aside and responded in kind.
A million thoughts raced through Dani's mind as she gave in to this strange chemistry that Jules gave off. She mostly focused the thrill of being here like this with a near stranger, though in the back of her mind she knew ships could be small, but her body was caring less and less about that. She changed positions so that she was on her knees, straddling his lap as he sat on the couch. She kissed him more forcibly, forcing his back as her long brown hair fell down like a curtain around their faces.
Dani had surprised Mundy with her reaction. She seemed to be into him now. He put his hands on her backside and pulled her closer. The he reached up and moved his hands inside her top and ran his hands along her spine.
Dani moaned a bit as she flipped her hair to one side and pressed her palms against his chest. She pulled her lips away from his and breathed heavily into his ear, exposing her neck to him.
Jules, holding her, stood up, and carried her to the bedroom. On the way, he kissed her neck. Dani wrapped her legs around his waist as he picked her up. "Oh, you're strong," she teased.
"You're light to carry. I just hope I don't hurt you by accident." Then he thought, "Have you ever been with big men?"
"I'm sure I can handle it, mister," Dani responded. "Jules. I like that name. She smiled and nibbled on his neck. "Jules"she said again.
Jules placed her on the bed, then took his clothes off, leaving his underwear for last.
Dani closed her eyes and let herself feel the heat coming from Jules' body. She brought his hands toward her back, sliding them under her shirt where they had been earlier, before taking off her shirt, and bringing them closer together. She kissed him harder now, kicking her pants off under the covers.
Mundy got under the covers, and pulled Dani close to him. He ran his hand over her back, from the neck down... Dani giggled softly at first, the laughter turning into sensual moans as their bodies took over. Eventually the two collapsed back onto the bed.
Dani was breathing heavily for a moment, as she smiled and stared at the ceiling. "Well that was... my legs are still shaking," she commented amusement in her voice as she said it out loud.
Mundy caught his breath. "Yes it was...very good." He reached over and started rubbing her legs to get the blood flowing again. "Maybe we can do dinner again."
"Is that what the kids are calling it these days?" Dani teased, flipping over onto her stomach. She propped herself up on a pillow and turned her head to face him.
"You don't want dinner next time? That's fine by me!" He put his hand on her backside, and gently squeezed.
"You like that, do you..." Dani lifted herself up and planted a kiss on Jules lips before retrieving her pants from the foot of the bed. "I should get going," she said before turning her back to him as she sat on the edge of the bed to begin getting dressed. The dim lighting of the bedroom was giving her clover green skin an iridescent glow.
Jules sat up behind he, and started kissing her back, running his tongue over her spine. "It's late....stay the night."
Dani let her head fall to one side for a moment as she briefly let herself enjoy what Jules was doing to her. "I would, but when it comes to things like this, even a Galaxy class becomes a small ship." Dani stood up from the bed to find the rest of her clothes and began putting her bra back on. "Last thing either one us needs on our first day out in space is for someone to catch me doing the walk of shame home from your place in the morning."
Still wearing just a bra Dani made her way back over to Jules. She brought her lips near his as she started to speak, "But if you ever want to stay over at my place, that's totally different," she said softly before her lips met his, her tongue teasing his lips one last time before she made her exit.
Jules fall back into the bed, He was still excited and needed to work off some of this excess energy. So he showered, dressed and headed to the gym.
