Location: Outskirts of Rag City, Freecloud
Timeline: MD 01, late afternoon

Inside the Warehouse

As soon as the weapon fire started, the Breen reacted, each one drawing their weapons and pointing them at the Naussicaans. A very large Breen, an individual who stood nearly a foot taller than the leader, quickly strode forward, taking up a defensive position over his commander. "Explain!" His distorted voice shouted, as he leveled a powerful-looking disruptor rifle at the leader of the Naussican group.

The expressions on the Nausicaan faces were equal parts dumbfounded and angry as they drew their own weapons. "You explain! One of my business associates was just attacked, unprovoked. This is clearly an ambush. We'll find another buyer!"

The Nausicaan tried to transport his team out of the warehouse, but nothing happened. "These chtäkhs are using a transporter inhibitor. Let's go before we have to shed any blood to see our way out."

The large Breen nodded to the guards that stood behind the Nausicaans, and they moved to surround the Nausicaans, raising and pointing their weapons at them. "You aren't leaving!" The large Breen barked. He then glanced at his commander. "We need to leave now, my lord!"

"Kill them for their deception. Wait, no. Kill two of them. The other can warn his comrades not to cross us again," the Commander ordered.

The leader of Nausicaans bowed deeply, and the other two followed suit. "I assure you, there was no intent on deceiving you. We have your product. We are not responsible for what is going on outside. We can still proceed with the transaction. A better location. More secure.

The giant Breen glanced from the Nausicaans to his leader. His only responsibility was to the protection of his commander. All other decisions rested with the Leader of the group.

The Breen commander raised his weapon, shooting the Nausicaans himself with no delay, sparing the one Nausicaan who groveled, the other two dropping into smoking heaps on the floor. The Commander nodded to his second and the Breen contingency were transported out of the warehouse.

Starfleet's Position

Kas fired on a figure with a rile who was positioned on a rooftop opposite him. As the snipper slumped over Kas saw the covert headgear. Breen, Kas shook his head if they'd been there to guard the perimeter he would have detected him. They were either incompliant or lying in wait...

Enam's voice monitoring what he could from the Holana was heard over the ground team's comm's, "We have ears in the warehouse. Breen commander has ordered a kill on the Nausicaans inside. They are requesting a new location for the deal. I do have a lock on your locations for emergency beam out," he advised.

=/\=The Breen set up an ambush!=/\=

Kas shouted into the COMM as he dodged a beam tore through the air missing him by an inch. The Hybrid popped up and fired at the second sniper. The shot went over the man's head and hit the panel on a maintenance box. There was a deafening explosion and the sniper was blown off the roof.

=/\=Converge on the Warehouse, we'll have to push up the timetable if we don't want to lose that intel!=/\= Clay replied to the team, making it to just outside of the warehouse with Eden behind him.

At the order to converge, Noha confirmed before he rolled behind some cover so he could stand. Once to his feet, he waited just enough for cover fire to start before he ran for the warehouse, his form hunched over to stay low.

Kuuth, the lone Nausicaan who had been spared found his communication device and transporter still disabled from inside the warehouse. After checking to make sure that his comrades were really dead, he cautiously made his way to the door of the warehouse. When he opened the door, he peered outside, looking for assailants and snipers before putting himself into the doorframe. Opening the door seemed to breach the energy field that had trapped him inside previously, because when he checked his comms they worked.

Kuuth sent a message to his team and ordered a retreat back to their ship, ordering those were able to sweep the area for what happened, but permitting those were pinned down to transport out. He then activated his own transporter and disappeared into the energy field.

Over the comms, the ground team heard the petty officer's voice again, "From what I could make out from our tap, the Breen have evacuated, and the Nausicaans have been ordered to retreat. Standing by for orders, Enam, out."

"Fuck" Clay exclaimed under his breath before he keyed his comm.

=/\=All Stations, sweep the warehouse for anything useful then return to exfill for return to Holana.=/\= Clay ordered to the teams.

=/\=McEntyre to Razka, Both parties are in retreat, advise Astrea that we lost our window. We're sweeping the Warehouse now. =/\= Clay commed to Kas.

=/\=Copy that=/\= Kas said monitoring his comrades.

The Kas's nostrils flared as he picked up a familiar and dangerous scent. He Donning a respirator from his pack he looked and the missed shot had burned through a hose on a tank on the building behind him.

He tapped his COMM. "Razka to Nemec, I need emergency evac."

"Ten-four, Commander. Energizing," the petty officer's response came quickly, as did his relief, the transporter transforming Kas' body into energy as it carried him safely away from the scene.

Xalanth breathed in hard as his yellow eyes zoomed in on the shooter and gently squeezed the trigger. A phaser blast hit the Nausicaan in the back as he began to run. Not enough to stop him as the Nauscian vanished from the lizard's eyesight. Letting out a curse Xalanth grabbed his lisner from the wall it was attached to. Sighing to himself he stood up hitting his coms. " Xalanth to Cha'joga why did you open fire?" He asked still keeping his rifle aimed at the enemy positions.

=^= “McEntyre to Xalanth: Grab Ensign Cha’joga and report to exfill, how copy” =^=Clay radioed to Xalanth.

=^= Roger. Heading to the exfill. =^= Xalanth said grabbing his listener as he did so. Moving quickly he headed back to Cha'joga's location. He pushed slightly at the location of one of his opponents. A data chip was on the floor having fallen out of the Nausicaan pocket. Pocketing it he continued keeping his eyes peeled for targets.

When Cha'joga saw Xalanth, she came out from her position, fired off a few rounds for good measure, then ran to catch up to Xalanth's position and followed him back to position.

Clay tapped his comm again, <^>"McEntyre to Corporals McKenzie and Noha, sweep the warehouse and surrounding area. Once clear or if you have trouble, call Petty officer Enam for beam out."=^=

"Good copy," Noha responded quietly, coming up short of the warehouse, hearing McKenzie nearby. Crouched by one of the doors, he listened inside for movement.

Nodding that he was ready, the Vulcan signaled before quickly entering the warehouse, weapon raised. "Sweep," he instructed, knowing they weren't safe until the area was secure.

Eden followed suit with her own weapon raised. Where Noha went left, she went right to ensure all areas were covered. "Area clear so far, nothing out of the ordinary spotted yet." Lowering her weapon for and coming to a halt at a vantage point, she took a moment to look and see if there was additional movement, "Confirming no movement either."

Noha moved until there was an area of cover he could stay close to, the chatter quiet in his ear. Some scorch marks across the floor inside the warehouse and abandoned equipment gave away the fight that occurred inside. A couple of blood marks on the ground marked the location of fallen, but the room was quiet. Noha did another pass with his eyes, straining to listen for any sounds, before opening his comms. "Confirmed. Warehouse is clear."

Coming up to where Noha was, McKenzie took note of what he was seeing and scanned the area with a tricorder. "I'll get this for Intel and Science to have a look at later. You good with that? I'm not seeing anything else that's noteworthy though."

Outside, the lizard moved with Cha'joga as fast as they could toward the warehouse. Thankfully they didn't encounter anything else the firefight having scared of any of the locals. They arrived at the warehouse door and met up with Noha and McKenzie as they were exiting the warehouse.

"Xalanth with team coming in," He called into his comms. the last thing they needed was a friendly fire incident.

“Clear!” Clay called out as he too was on the opposite side of the building from the security officer.

“What you got?” He asked Xalanth as he came in.

"Unnecessary casualties and our intel is nowhere to be found." Clay said, looking at the Security Officer, more like glaring at them through his glasses. He walked over to them, putting his glasses on top of his head.

"This has turned into a massive failure, Lieutenant. I don't know if we can even salvage this." Clay said pointedly. "Everyone, report back to the ship."

The lizard nodded, paused and pulled out the data crystal from his pocket. "Dropped by one of the parameter teams may have some information on it," he said as he handed over it and his listener. "Cha'joga, Once we get back to the shuttle, I want a full report as to why you opened fire." He added.

"Lieutenant Xalanth, I want to speak with both you and Cha'joga when we're aboard the shuttle."

Clay tapped his comms again. "McEntyre to shuttle, five to beam up"
