Mission: Gone, Without Ever Knowing the Way
Location: Bridge, USS Astrea
Timeline: MD 06

"Are you able to put us into orbit, Ensign?" Remy asked from the command chair.

"Aye, Sir. Plotting standard orbit track. Dropping to 2/3 impulse power." Quinn responded from the helm as they brought the ship into orbit of the Class L moon they now find themselves orbiting.

"Lieutenant Ral, are you getting anything from the surface?" Remy asked. "Let's get it on the view screen."

A few quick button taps got the images up on the screen. They were not much to look at, as there did not seem to be anything special about it. "A debris field of various objects. Some spacial bodies such as asteroids. But nothing that should cause a problem for the Astrea." Daynah continued to dig through the data in an effort to find something more.

"Is there anything down there worth looking at? If we aren't the only ones who know about these coordinates?" The Captain looked at something on her terminal before standing up and walking toward the viewscreen. "Lieutenant T'lenn, conditions on the surface?"

"Captain. The moon's surface maintains a largely breathable troposphere for most humanoid life with approximately 20% Oxygen and 77% inert gasses. However, there are vast areas of the surface where sulfur dioxide ranges from 1 - 5 ppm, with carbon dioxide in the surrounding regions showing expected surges as well," the Vulcan officer explained. "Geographical data would indicate that these regions are associated with seismic activity. The predictability of seismic activity is unknown, there is little data at this time."

"Understood, Lieutenant. Let's keep an eye on it then."

"Commander Spello, Cyn thoughts on sending an away team down?" The Captain was looking for opinions on logistics. There was no question that if it were feasible, they would be sending a team.

Spello stood and moved to stand next to Remy asked he responded. "L Class surfaces are certainly nothing new for away teams, Captain. My only suggestion is that, to he on the safe side, the team wears EV Suits when outside the shuttle. And, the pilot understand that he is to keep his engines on standby, in case the team gets in trouble."

“I second the EV suits.” came Alex’s voice. It will allow us to monitor vital signs and provide advance warning should the team find trouble.” She had stepped onto the bridge mere moments before Commander Spello’s recommendation and made her way to the railing behind the Captain and XO.

Xalanth was at the security console and was running a series of scans. Scavenger ships would sometimes rig space junk with traps to prevent them from being salvaged by competitors. Better to be safe than sorry as the terrans said. "I third the EV suits." He added to the conversation.

"I am glad to hear that no one is complaining about the EV suits for once," the Captain agreed.

"Commander Spello, put together a team. I agree with taking a shuttle down. Let's get with Commander Winters. I know he asked to be involved. I think it would be a good idea to take transporter pattern enhancers with you. Dr. Blackstone, are you comfortable going with the team?" Remy asked.

“I could use a good stretch of my legs, I’d be happy to go along. Having medical onsite is likely for the better anyway.” Alex responded, perhaps just a little too quick but then she was an explorer and intrepid at heart.

After Blacksto replied, Maxun looked back at Remy and nodded. "Nash will make a great addition to the team. With his engineering knowledge, he could help find the ship faster." He then reached p ad tapped his commbadge. Spello to Winters, please report to the main shuttlebay in twenty minutes for an away mission to the crash site."

“Nash here. Acknowledged, Commander. Be there shortly. A few things to lock down here, then I’ll be up. Nash out.”

There was something eerily familiar about all of this to Daynah. However, at the moment she could not put her finger on exactly what made this situation familiar. Her scans told her that there was a lot to see out there, and most of it unknown. "Captain. The EV suits should be adjusted to create a stable chroniton field. This will lock the team onto this universe, at this time. If they encounter a temporal anomaly out there, they won't get lost. It should not take too long to make the adjustments to the suits."

Anomalies inside the planet's atmosphere. Remy was embarrassed that she hadn't considered the risk, and was grateful to have officers with wisdom and knowledge about the Expanse alert and present.

"Thank you, Lieutenant. Let's get it done then. Take whatever time and resources you need," Remy replied.

“I’ll prep some inoculations for the away team as well; should provide a secondary layer of protection against the effects of any spatial anomalies.” Alex suggested; running a mental checklist of what medications would serve the purpose without incapacitating the team.

"Very well. We'll have the entire team convene in Sickbay before heading to the Shuttlebay then," Remy stated. "That will give the Lieutenant time to work on adjusting the suits."

“Simple enough, Captain. I’ll go prep the inoculations if I’m not necessary on the bridge for the next few minutes; maybe see if I can find something from one of my old cases and get them replicated too.” Alex replied; turning toward the turbolift after taking another look at the viewscreen.

"Yes, go ahead Doctor," the Captain confirmed. "Commander Spello, make any necessary preparations you need to, then have your team report to Sickbay."

"Ensign L'khet, notify Commander Winters that when he's done in Engineering, he needs to stop by Sickbay before reporting to the Shuttlebay," Remy added. "And of course, this goes without saying, Everyone be careful."

"Aye, Sir" The Caitian nodded, typing out on his console.
